Rev Kenneth Huang preaching on the Three Eternal Virtues of Faith, Hope and Love, on 4 Jan 2026

On 4 January 2026, the first Sunday of the year, CCMC Pastor-in-Charge Rev Kenneth Huang shared our church themes for the next three years (2026 to 2028), chosen to help CCMC fulfill our Vision: To Know God Deeply & Make Him Known Widely.

Starting in 2026, each year will focus on one of the vital spiritual pillars: Faith, Hope, Love.

2026 Theme: “Faith in Jesus”

In 2026, the theme centres on strengthening our faith in Jesus, with plans for a pulpit series based on The Gospel of John in February.

Rev Huang emphasises that faith is the foundation of our service — service driven not by obligation, routine, or human wisdom, but by a deep faith in Jesus.

This year's theme highlights activities and actions we can take to reconnect with people who have drifted away from CCMC and with loved ones we hope to invite into our church community.

CCMC intends to plan activities that include fellowship and discipleship to help rebuild and strengthen the congregation. We will also launch a concerted effort to outreach to absent members and loved ones through the key events of the year. These include:

  • Easter Sunday Service & Lunch on 5 Apr

  • Church Camp – 12 to 15 Jun

  • Family Day (12 Sep) & 32nd Anniversary Service (13 Sep)

All of this will be undergirded by our tagline of “Rejoicing and Reuniting”.

2027 Theme: “Hope in God”

In 2027, our emphasis turns to endurance, powered by our hope in God, as we study the Books of Ruth and Ecclesiastes through a series designed to inspire perseverance in our spiritual journey.

Rev Huang emphasises that our efforts should be grounded in the community God has placed us in.

Additionally, we are called to reach beyond our church family to our neighbourhood, surrounding areas, nearby schools, and estates where the church is located.

2028 Theme: “Love for People”

Throughout 2028, the chosen theme, Love for People, invites us to serve with love, extending our reach globally through stewardship and missions, with a pulpit series from the Letter to the Romans. The purpose of the theme is to promote compassionate labour from CCMC, motivated by Love.

Eternal Significance

Rev Huang shares that these virtues—faith, hope, and love—carry eternal significance, urging us all to embody them fully.

Our Guiding Verse

1 Thessalonians 1:3 becomes the guiding verse of our church for these three years, starting in 2026.

In preparation of next milestone-CCMC’s anniversary in 2029

Our collective journey aims to prepare us for a joyful 35th Church Anniversary celebration in 2029, when we thank God for His abundant blessings.

Our efforts are to be undergirded in prayer

Throughout this journey, prayer is our foundation. Rev Huang encourages our congregation to participate in the monthly prayer service on the first Tuesday of each month from 8pm to 9:30 pm at the Chapel, where 12 devotions based on The Apostles’ Creed will inspire us to stay connected and committed.

Our Response And Commitment

Since early 2026, CCMC has distributed a booklet to the congregation outlining its vision: "To Know God Deeply and To Make Him Known Widely. This booklet also emphasises the church's three-year thematic focus areas: Faith in Jesus, Hope in God, and Love for People, which are prominently displayed inside.

The final page of the booklet is especially important, as it encourages congregation members to commit to praying for CCMC and supporting its vision as we work together on this spiritual journey.

Our children, as vital members of the church community, will engage with colourful handouts that include blanks and underlines. These handouts are designed to help them actively follow along and deepen their understanding during sermons.

Conclusion

As CCMC steps into this three-year journey centred on Faith, Hope, and Love, we are reminded that these virtues are meant to be learnt . Rooted in prayer and expressed through fellowship, discipleship, and outreach, we begin with Faith in Jesus in 2026, rejoicing, reuniting, and reaching out to those God has placed around us.

To hear how members of our congregation are reflecting on this sermon series, we invite you to watch our short interview video on Faith, Hope, and Love. May these shared reflections encourage us, as we build confidence in our Faith in Jesus.
