Installation & Dedication of CCMC’s LCEC 2026 - 2027

On 11 October 2026, CCMC marked Laity Sunday with the installation, dedication and introduction of our 2026–2027 Local Church Executive Committee (LCEC). The occasion brought together thanksgiving for those stepping forward to lead and a reminder of the part each of us plays in the life and ministry of our church.
What does the LCEC do?
“Have general oversight of the programme of the local church in pursuing the primary task of the local church.”
– Book of Discipline of the Methodist Church in Singapore
The LCEC oversees the programmes and ministries of our local church. Its members take on the responsibility of guiding and supporting these ministries, serving alongside the wider church family.

In his Laity Sunday message, Lay Leader Mr Leslie Wong spoke about returning to God and the difference this can make in our lives. As our leaders begin their term of service, we too can reflect on our dependence on God in all that we do.
This year, Loaves+Fishes gets to know Eliza Leong and Samuel Lee, who are taking on leadership responsibilities in Glowing Years Ministry and One Community (our youth ministry) respectively. We ask what has drawn them to serve and their hopes for the people entrusted to their care
Eliza Leong | Committee Chairperson, Glowing Years Ministry (GYM)
1) What does church ministry mean to you?
Church ministry gives me the opportunity to serve the Lord with my organisational skills. I’m glad to be able to put these skills to use in supporting the ministry and contributing to the life of our church.
2) How do you feel about serving in ministry leadership?
It is wonderful to serve the Lord and His people alongside our pastors and fellow leaders across the various ministries. I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve together, and may God bless us all as we carry out the work He has entrusted to us!
3) Tell us one interesting thing about yourself
I’m a positive person who always tries to look on the bright side!
Samuel Lee | Committee Chairperson, Youth (One Community)
1) What does Church Ministry mean to you?
To me, church ministry means partnering with God to build others up in His love, not my own, and to serve His will, not mine, as we journey together as disciples of Christ and become more like Him. It is also a way of reflecting His love and glory to the world, so that more people might come to know and follow Him. I see it as being a puzzle piece in God’s beautiful will and kingdom.
2) How do you feel about serving in ministry leadership?
Being entrusted with a leadership role gives me access to more resources and support, along with a wonderful opportunity to connect more closely with the rest of the church and get to know everyone better. It also gives me a greater capacity to bring about change. Please pray with the leaders in One Community (OC) and the LCEC for boldness, wisdom and discernment, so that we will not simply carry out plans for the sake of it, or because that is what we are used to doing every year, but will obediently pursue God’s will, however He calls us to do so.
At the same time, this role does not change why I serve. I like to say, “Keep the main thing the main thing.” Ultimately, we are all God’s children and followers of Christ, called to serve and build others up in love (Ephesians 4:15-16), not to puff ourselves up, as Pastor Linda reminded us in a recent sermon. Serving in ministry leadership is simply another opportunity to do so.
3) Tell us one interesting thing about yourself?
I love playing, watching and following a really wide variety of sports, including basketball (NBA), badminton (BWF), American football (NFL), baseball (MLB), ultimate frisbee (UFA), tennis (ATP), golf (PGA) and F1. But I don’t follow soccer, haha!
