At the start of 2026, our 3-Year Themes were unveiled, namely “Faith in Jesus” (2026), “Hope in God” (2027) and “Love for People” (2028). This article is the first in a series of check-ins with our congregation, to see how they are living out our yearly themes. We posed the above question to our congregants; some gamely stepped up to share how their journey this year has been.

“My faith in Jesus has grown through the responsibilities and struggles I’ve carried in family, parenting, work, and relationships. Instead of becoming bitter through pain and conflict, I’ve learned to hold onto trust, gratitude, forgiveness, and self-control.
I’ve continued building, creating, and moving forward even during difficult seasons, believing there is still purpose ahead for me. My faith has also strengthened my confidence, integrity, and sense of stewardship in both business and personal relationships. I’ve become more reflective about growth, identity, and meaning, and I realize faith is no longer just something I believe in - it’s something I lean on daily.”

“When I was younger, my acts of faith were very much dependent on my own strength and will power. However as I grew older and the encounters in life became more and more difficult for one to exercise faith by sheer grit, I learned to surrender to God. I learned to step out in faith in all my weakness and vulnerability.
In His grace, God gave me strength to walk every step of the way as Paul testifies in 2 Cor 12:10 - ‘That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.’ Faith however requires daily sustenance – daily dwelling on his word and in his presence.”

“I am grateful that since becoming Christians, my wife Lucy and I have seen our faith in Jesus grow stronger day by day. I am also thankful for our regular gatherings with our Growth Group, Ecclesiastes, where we gain a deeper understanding of God’s Word through Bible study, pray for one another, and encourage and support each other in our daily lives. Being a Christian is a lifelong journey, and I thank God for the many friendships and fellowship I continue to build within the church and our Growth Group.”
Candy
“My faith in Jesus has grown in confidence through being part of my Growth Group, Ecclesiastes. By listening to God's Word, sharing testimonies , praying together and encouraging one another, I am learning to trust Jesus more in both good and difficult times.
Seeing how God answered prayers and guided others also strengthened my own faith.
The support and fellowship in the Growth Group reminded me that I am not walking alone, and it helped me become more confident in God's love, faithfulness, and plans for my life.”

“Our faith has grown as we are assured by the unfailing love and mercy of Jesus. We see this faith in action as fellow CCMC members care and pray for each other and reach out to the community.”
Here is a testimony of how one member's faith in Jesus was strengthened through the faithful work and service of fellow Christians:

“Simon and I joined a Growth Group led by Alvin. Alvin was a university professor before, so he helps us to study God’s word more deeply. The group atmosphere is very interactive and friendly.
Evelyn and Vincent share their own experiences about how they face problems and how believing in Jesus gives them peace, joy, and love. Evelyn’s monthly prayers for our growth group are very caring and holy, which encourages us and makes our heart warm. Vincent books the study room and sets up the computers. Although his working schedule is busy, he always does it consistently.
Candy always provides home made food which is very sweet.
Rui Rui is very active in sharing her personal reflections, which triggers our thoughts as well.
We enjoy being with each other and encouraging each other. May God bless us all and let us continue to grow in Him.”

We thank our friends for sharing their personal stories. If you feel led to share your own testimony, please email us at comms@ccmc.org.sg. To join or find out more about Growth Groups, email admin@ccmc.org.sg.
